DDE Plugin

The DDE Plugin enables communication between a Servoy Solution and any local or remote Windows DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) Server .

Dynamic data exchange (DDE) is a feature of Microsoft Windows®.
DDE provides a protocol through which applications can exchange data of all sorts.

With this version of the Plugin you can set up read and write , from and to any DDE Server enabled (MS Windows) applications like:

• To interact direct with open applications to read data.
• To interact direct with open applications to write data.

In fact whenever a user needs to interact with open Windows applications the DDE Plugin will be a great help.

We published our API Specifications for the DDE Plug-in as a future and current reference.

After downloading the DDE Plug-in using our Components Manager a sample solution {servoy_root}/solutions/it2be-examples/it2be-dde.servoy is installed.
You can import the sample solution into Servoy Developer and you will have some (basic) code examples of how to use the DDE Plug-in.
